Týmto chceme v mene Mesta Žilina a organizátora Mestská kultúra Žilina poďakovať všetkým zainteresovaným, ktorí sa podieľali na príprave, organizácii, programe, technickej obsluhe, odpadovému hospodárstvu, vizuálnej stránke, bezpečnosti, propagácii, spoluprácam a predovšetkým všetkým účinkujúcim. Tiež veľká vďaka patrí návštevníkom, že prišli a spoločne sme vytvorili nezabudnuteľnú atmosféru. Tento rok sme otvorili sprievodom s rekordným počtom účastníkov a „My všetci spolu sme Žilina“ nebolo len motto, ale naozajstná realita. Kľúče od mesta odovzdané primátorom otvorili mesto zábave a radosti. Zaznamenali sme, približne tisíc účinkujúcich detí v tanečných v hudobných programoch, ktoré si pripravili miestne základné umelecké školy, záujmové krúžky a centrá voľného času. Koncerty na oboch námestiach zaplnili tisíce návštevníkov, tržnica na tri dni ožila zábavou, záujem bol aj o sprievodný program a afterparties. Želáme si, aby kultúra a umenie takto spájali Žilinčanov aj v nasledujúcich ročníkoch.
Several popular bands and performers will take the stage at two venues in the city center—Mariánske Square and Andrej Hlinka Square. In addition to those already mentioned, the lineup will include Peter Bič Projekt, Fragile, Hrdza, Arzén, and many others. The organizers are also inviting the public to an interesting supporting program. “Worth noting, for example, is the electronic stage at Tržnica Žilina, which will expand the festival’s genre diversity and provide a space for the modern club scene. The event will not be limited to just the two squares in the city center.
“This year, a wider range of cultural institutions based in the city will once again be participating—whether through a supporting program or after-parties. This means visitors can continue to enjoy themselves even after the main program has ended,” Lucia Šimo explained.
The Old Town Festival will also feature the popular opening ceremony in the form of a festive parade. During the event, visitors will find stalls selling interesting goods, seasonal craft markets, gingerbread, and a variety of refreshments throughout the city. As in previous years, purchased beverages will be served in returnable cups.
“For three decades now, the Old Town Festival has been an integral part of culture and life in Žilina. It is a symbol of great music, extraordinary experiences, pleasant encounters, and an atmosphere that brings together thousands of Žilina residents and visitors to the city every year. I am looking forward to the 30th anniversary edition bringing a rich program for all generations. Everyone will have the opportunity to find something they enjoy—whether at concerts, in the accompanying program, or during gatherings in the center of Žilina.”

This one will be different precisely because it’s an anniversary edition. Visitors can expect a more extensive lineup packed with headliners and well-known artists. We’re also focusing on better technical support, which in practice means larger stages, more lights, screens, and other equipment, as well as better sound. So that fans can take home a more powerful experience from the concerts. We also plan to use the so-called “dead spots” between band changes to showcase not only the event’s sponsors but also our city and its organizations on LED screens. The opening of the festivities will also be different. This time, it will be a grand parade with the theme “We Are All Žilina Together,” and in addition to musicians, actors, and dancers, we have invited many organizations and communities active in our city to join the parade. There will also be more booths, offering a wider and more diverse selection of products and a more varied range of refreshments.
There are several new features, one of which is a spectacular opening parade involving various organizations, institutions, communities, and delegations, filled with music and entertainment. Another is a live broadcast and studio right in the center, provided by media partner STVR Rádio Regina – Stred. In addition to the reusable cups used every year, there will also be a new recycling collection point for PET bottles and cans. During the festivities, voting will officially begin on participatory projects designed to beautify public spaces and actively engage the community.
A new feature will also be introduced and promoted: a joint website and app for year-round events in the city of ĽAĽA HO.
We realize that in the past, aside from performances by children’s groups and after-school centers—which are participating again this year—there was no program for our youngest visitors. So this year, we’ve added the Žilina Children’s Day event in SNP Park on Saturday afternoon, which will be full of games, dancing, and fun for our youngest audience.
Above all, a diverse program that has something for everyone, from classical music and choral singing to folk, jazz vocal performances, energetic Latin music, electronic DJ sets, and pop and pop-rock. Local bands and groups will perform, as well as well-known headliners. Among the biggest names are: Dara Rolins, No Name, Hrdza, Vesna, Buty, Billy Barman, Fragile, Polemic, Peter Bič Project, Lojzo, Palo Drapák, and Queenshow. Arzén with FS Rozsutec, the local State Chamber Orchestra, the Omnia choir, and FS Stavbár will also perform. You can look forward to seeing approximately 600 children from elementary art schools, leisure centers, and other dance centers.
The accompanying program will also be interesting. During the Old Town Festival, visitors will have the opportunity to take a peek behind the scenes at the City Theater, check out the Kuzmány Community Center exhibition at the Pasá:ž – Horný Val exhibition space, or enjoy the Inclusive Cinema at Rosenfeld Palace. Also worth mentioning is the diverse lineup of afterparties designed not only for teenagers and younger age groups: a silent disco at Stanica-Záriečie, a warm-up with DJs at the New Synagogue, techno or Latin music at Smer Club 77, and concerts from the Open Call at the Hoffmann Cultural Center.
For the first time, the Old Town Festival is being organized by the city’s newly established organization, Mestská kultúra Žilina. Thanks to this, the organization was able to secure sponsors and partners who, through their financial and in-kind contributions, helped improve this year’s program and organization.
The public restrooms on Andrej Hlinka Square will remain open throughout the duration of the events taking place on the square and in SNP Park.
All necessary technical infrastructure for the construction, safe use, and operation of the stage during the event (roof and stage anchoring, electrical connections) is located and was designed on Mariánske Square, specifically in the area in front of the cultural monument.
DPMŽ s.r.o. will add additional bus services during the evening hours over the three days of the festival, taking into account the event’s program and schedule.
Yes, the city will ensure that SNP Park and the entire city center remain clean and orderly during the Old Town Festival.
The Technical Services Department of the City of Žilina is once again providing enhanced maintenance services this year. Starting in March 2026, the department’s responsibilities have also been expanded to include services previously provided by Agát, particularly in the area of sidewalk sweeping, including mechanical cleaning.
During the festivities, there will therefore be more frequent emptying of small trash cans, regular daily mechanical cleaning of streets, ongoing manual cleanup of public spaces, as well as immediate response to any littering in the city center. TSMŽ’s work also includes minor repairs to street furniture, such as paving and trash cans. At the same time, TSMŽ is working closely with the City of Žilina’s Department of Culture to ensure they can respond flexibly to current needs throughout the event.
The city strives to protect the environment and keep the city clean during events; therefore, reusable cups are provided at major cultural events, which residents can return at designated locations, thereby reducing waste generated at the event. This system has been in place in our city for a long time, and many people keep these cups as a souvenir of the event.

The event is free for visitors in public spaces—concerts on the stages at Mariánske and Hlinkovo Squares and the party at the Market Hall are free of charge. Some side events and after-parties held at cultural institutions and clubs require an admission fee.
During this event, there will be an increased number of patrols on the city streets, particularly in the event area and in locations with a higher concentration of visitors. Their role will be to ensure public order is maintained and to help ensure the event proceeds safely and peacefully.
